Dear Dance Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we bring you some unfortunate news. Just a few days ago, we received news that the Summer Sensual Days festival is no longer supported by the destination of Rovinj.
This decision of the City of Rovinj and the Tourist Board of the City of Rovinj was prompted by years of unofficial and uncontrolled day and night gatherings of dancers in public areas outside of the festival venues, which disturbed the residents of the city and disrupted the stay of other guests in Rovinj, and which we, as organizers, have repeatedly appealed to stop so that this does not happen.
Unfortunately, overextending the hospitality of the destination Rovinj produced the worst result - discontinuation of support from the destination Rovinj.
As a result of this information, we tried to find a compromise with the city authorities, but without success.
Over the years, the festival has strived to provide the highest quality content, experience, and emotion in a multitude of widely distributed locations throughout the town to satisfy every dance appetite and fill every heart, and this is what we can really be proud of. Sadly, a minority of our community did feel this was not enough and took the city's hospitality for granted.
Although shocked and saddened by this sudden decision by the destination, especially in this phase of the event, we receive this decision face-on. Life brings us challenges, and rain periods come so we can grow our roots, renew ourselves, and come out stronger. And that's exactly what we will do.
First, we want to reassure you that we have confirmed that the Croatian Summer Salsa Festival (10–17 June 2024) has not been affected by this decision.
The 20th-anniversary celebration will proceed in Rovinj in 2024, and it will be the most epic in its history! We invite you to join us in Rovinj to celebrate CSSF's 20-year milestone - an occasion deserving of a grand and unforgettable celebration!
Regarding the SSD passes already sold for 2024, as well as the combination passes with CSSF, we will reach out to all of you who have made purchases. We will provide further information and options for refunds very soon. As always, you are safe in giving us your trust and support.
For those who have booked official hotels with promo codes, we advise reviewing the reservation conditions and working directly with the hotels for cancellations regarding the SSD dates.
