From the very first encounter, you will be overcome by a contagious African energy wave and a passionate spirit.
Rokhaya resides in the Paris region and is very fond of music of all kinds. She comes from a dynamic dancing background that includes mbalax, dancehall, salsa, and hip-hop. She discovered kizomba in Rennes, France, thanks to her friends, but really began to dance it in Toulouse on the famous parquet of La Folia.
Her passion and enthusiasm for the dance were quickly discovered on dance floors across France and Europe.
She met her late dance partner Tyron on the dance floors in the Pink City, known as Toulouse in France. They started collaborating at the Kizomba Open eliminatory in Bordeaux, in September 2015. Thereafter, they gave different semba and kizomba workshops.
After going through a great loss, she decided to keep Tyron’s legacy alive. She is now sharing her passion on her own and hopes to normalize more African dances such as mbalax from Senegal.
In addition to leading incredible kizomba workshops, Rokhaya will also join us at an exclusive session for women, where we will explore different intriguing topics and secretive questions!
